Itinerary

Upon arrival in Luxor, you will be met at your hotel by Legend Egypt Tours' professional guide and private driver for one of our highly suggested Luxor day trips and Luxor day tours, where you will have the chance to explore the wonders of ancient Thebes.

You will begin on the West Bank of Luxor with a visit to the two gigantic seated statues of King Amenhotep III, "The Colossi of Memnon." Next, you will move on to Deir El-Bahri to visit the superb mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut (the only woman ruler in the history of Egypt), which has been cut from the sheer rock face of the cliffs.

You will then move on to The Valley of the Kings (the burial site of the rulers of the New Kingdom and its nobles), including the 18 th and 19 th dynasties, where over sixty-two tombs have been found. The site has acquired particular worldwide fame through its discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun.

You will then get a taste of local life on the West Bank with a visit to an alabaster workshop to see hand-made local Egyptian craft.

After enjoying your lunch at a local restaurant, you will then continue your tour on the East Bank and visit the Karnak Temple Complex, where you can marvel at the incredible hypostyle hall built by Ramses II and see the highest obelisk built in Egypt, which was done by the female pharaoh Hatshepsut.

You will finish your day tour with a visit to the beautiful Luxor Temple, built largely in the New Kingdom in the heart of modern Luxor. It was the site of the ancient festival Opet.

Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

    • Camera and photography tickets inside the Valley of the Kings are not included in the Luxor day tours and excursions offered by us.
