Dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, protector of the king and son of Isis and Osiris, the Temple is the best preserved of all the temples of Egypt and stands as a superb example of the architecture of the Ptolemaic period; it was constructed between 237 B.C. And 57 B.C.

Continue to Kom Ombo to see the temple of the pair of deities, which stands on the banks of the Nile and is constructed on a raised ground with the remarkable advantage of being built in a pair. Dedicated to the crocodile-headed god, Sobek, god of the fertility of the Nile, and the falcon-headed god, Horus the Elder.
